Migraines And Headaches; Causes, Types, Symptoms & Remedies

YES! I know you are here today because you are presently looking to solutions to that very migraine headache you suffering or suffered from in time past. You may as well want to know more about it. Here you are! …to start wit!! There are times that you just feel some kind of serious pain or headache in your head …it might be for long and a short while. Most times it focuses on a portion of your brain and you can just wait for it to relief you. However, I am going to explain the types, causes and remedies of migraines as you read further.
Migraine Headaches

Migraines are a type of headache and there are basically two different types of migraines which are namely;
  1. Common Migraine, and
  2. Classic Migraine.

Common migraine is characterized by severe throbbing and pain, often on one side of the head. It is highly sensitive to light and sound. Sometimes a migraine headache could be characterized by dizziness, nausea, teary eyes or cold hands.

Classic migraine is characterized by all the symptom described above, and might sometimes include allucinations. You may begin to ‘see double’ or begin to see images or stars. Classic migraine is usually accompanied by seeing an aura or perceiving strange odors that do not exist.

Causes of migraines

The cause of migraine most times is excessive dilation or contraction of blood vessels in the brain or sometimes, serotonin imbalance. Serotonin and melatonin are two chemicals in the brain that helps you to sleep. When you have imbalance of these chemicals in your brain, then you can begin to experience migraine headaches.

At some stages, which usually start when you begin to feel moody or memory loss, seeing flashes or begins to experience some form of numbness in your hands, or sometimes in your mouth.

Now that I’ve discussed and explained the types and causes ….let’s talk about the remedies of migraines and headaches.

  • Make sure you are not dehydrated. Always drink enough water/fluid every day. This is the bottom line.
  • Take proper rest every day: get 6 to 8 hours of sleep daily and manages your stress appropriately.
  • If you have been able to identify the things that normally trigger your headaches, then avoid them. And keep far away from alcoholic drinks and substances, caffeine, aspartame, etc
  • Your diet is very important. Eat and drink well. Fresh vegetables, fruits and fish. I advice no cooked food should be eaten in the morning up until 12noon.
  • Pineapple is rich in an enzyme called brome lain which helps to reduce inflammation in the body. You also need to eat plenty calcium-rich foods such as okra and spinach. Cucumber is also a good diuretic that helps to prevent water retention that can increase your blood pressure which can lead to hypertension and headache. It also helps you to detoxify.

Ladies should avoid hormonal contraceptives If they want to avoid migraines and headaches.
Avoid a room that is not properly ventilated, where there is extreme heat condition or where there is smoke or fumes.
For ladies who suffer from menstrual headaches, and other forms of hormonal imbalance, a natural progesterone cream (balanced woman cream or wild yam cream) may help.
Sometimes, soothing and calming music is all you need to calm your nerves down and eliminate your brain.

Air Pollution Health Risks A Must Read

Air pollution health risks

Good day guys! Hope you are good today? I believe you are reading this post because you want to know the air essentials for you home & health. Okay! …I've once asked this question;
Can the air we breathe in within the confines of our home be polluted or therefore be harmful to our health?
YES!  ….If you don’t know.

Air Pollution Health Effects

Indoor air pollution stems from combustion pollutants such as gas, oil, coal, wood, tobacco products, building materials, and furnishings, insulations that can contain asbestos, cleaning or personal use products, damp carpet and lead-based paint. The air fresheners we use release such toxins, also.
Other pollutants include viruses and bacteria that are spread by people and animals. Cats and dogs or other pets spread bacteria through their saliva and dander (fur, feathers, etc).

Also, the dried urine from mice, rats or cockroaches produce an allergen that permeates the air and causes respiratory and other problems in our body systems. Dust mites, who produce allergen, live in warm moist places such as mattresses, bed sheets, cloth furniture, curtains and carpets. And, as you know mold and mildew breed in damp areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and water damaged materials.

So just note that diseases and other health issues are brought on by these indoor air pollutants. When you have colds, or you are coughing, sneezing or itchy and or have watery eyes, respiratory problems such as asthma, nasal congestion and sinus infections, chicken pox, measles, and digestive problems can all be the result of pollutants. So beware!!

All said and done below are ways you can prevent or get rid of these awful indoor air pollutants in our homes.

  1. Don’t allow any smoking in your home. Smokers should go outside to smoke and away from children.
  2. By doing this once in a week. Dust furniture with a slightly damp cloth (no sprays).
  3. Fix any leaky faucets or pipes that will cause the growth of mold and mildew.
  4. Improve ventilation in your home by opening windows to allow free in and out flow of fresh air.
